A Tale of Branded Gazebos

In the light of the festive, jolly season, we’d like to share a light-hearted perspective on one of the stalwarts of our XCO Group’s Exposure collection, which also belongs in your corporate marketing box of brand exposure tools – the branded gazebo.

Sporting Gear

Some 35 years ago, an entrepreneurial man named Grandpa X, located his retail business in a suburb of a sprawling city. The city was located in a sunny country that was populated by people who loved sports. Participants and lovers of sport came from all quarters of the city to obtain their sporting apparel and equipment from Grandpa X’s outdoor gazebo, where he stored and sold sports gear to members of the public.

Little Red Hoodie

Granddad X’s favourite granddaughter was known as Little Red Hoodie, because of the hoodie she had selected from Grandpa’s range of sportswear and tracksuits, much favoured by players and spectators who liked to be warm and comfy when out and about, in and around the city.

Aspirational Plans and Dreams

Little Red Hoodie wished to join her granddad’s venture, since she had big, innovative ideas and aspirational dreams about gradually expanding the X business to include many more products and services, in addition to sporting goods and gazebos.

She envisaged the supply of a comprehensive range of portable gazebos in a variety of colours and designs, as well as their optional component products, which could be custom-branded with the corporate insignia of an expanding and growing corporate client base.

Formation of X & Co. Group

This young lady also foresaw the day when she could supply her market sector at wholesale prices, once she’d employed more personnel to run different divisions, thereby becoming a group – to be known as the X & Co Group, a leader in creating, expanding, exposing, building, and customising brands.

However, this would occur in the future. Although still youthful and full of ideas himself, Grandpa X valued her input and innovative approach.

In-House Branding Studio

Little Hoodie, who had selected red as her own corporate colour, also saw the need for an in-house X & Co. branding studio, run by specialists in this field, who could attend to all her clients’ branding requirements, be they on gazebos, clothing, workwear, promotional gifts, safety and protective equipment, and of course, a bigger range of sportswear. Granddad concurred.

Lurking Threat

In such tales, there always has to be a challenge, a threat and a struggle between the forces of good and evil. This time, the threat to Grandpa X and Little Red Hoodie came from a jealous, greedy fellow, who became known as Wolf because of his underhand tactics in attempting to gobble up competitors.

Wolf did not occupy or own a branded gazebo, so he failed to attract attention and custom. A tatty, worn-out garden umbrella was the only shelter he provided to keep his stock and conduct his business. Jealousy and envy overcame Mr Wolf, who failed to realise that competition is healthy and that he should attend to his products and his customer service.

Consequently, he devised a plan to sink Grandpa’s and Hoodie’s venture. One day, after he’d become aware that Little Hoodie was on her way to Granddad’s branded gazebo, Wolf made certain that he arrived at Grandpa’s gazebo before Little Hoodie.

Q & A

He hid Grandpa after donning the grandfather’s corporate attire to disguise his true identity. Upon Hoodie’s arrival, she became suspicious. She questioned the supposed granddad.

When asked why his ears were so large, he responded: “All the better to hear your trade secrets, my dear.”

Hoodie asked why his eyes were so big. Wolf said: “All the better to check the branding on gazebos, my dear.”

The next question involved the size of his mouth and teeth. Wolf was warming to his role: “All the better to destroy competitors, my child.”

All Ends Well

Hoodie realised the true state of affairs, so she contacted the local woodcutter for help. Wolf was removed and sent for in-depth rehabilitation, also focussed on customer service, sales training and the role played by competitors. Later, he became an expert quality control supervisor, once X & Co. was formed.

The woodcutter acquired his own branded gazebo, with which he promoted his services. Little Red Hoodie, Grandpa X and their group continued to expand and grow. Today, X & Co. supplies all things custom-branded, from gazebos to gifts and essential products to extensive ranges of corporate clothing - and more. They’re eager to attend to your branded gazebo and additional requirements too.
