Article - Bring Your Branded Gazebo | XCO Group

Visit any expo, trade or retail show in South Africa, and you’re sure to encounter numerous gazebos. Irrespective of how many there are, one thing is certain – they’re all individually branded. Each gazebo is striking and adds a festive air to the event.

Big Daddy of Branded Items

Umbrellas, flags, banners, pop-ups, and inflatables are great vehicles to attract the attention of potential customers. However, a gazebo may be seen as the Big Daddy of brand opportunities because of its size, design, the height of its roof, and the ample space that it offers to carry bold, highly visible brand insignia. Of course, when combined with similarly branded flags, banners and the like, that’s a huge marketing, advertising and branding boost.

If you’re still in doubt about acquiring one or more gazebos to use when your organisation hosts, participates in or sponsors an outdoor event, or use a gazebo indoors, stand back for a moment and objectively observe the possible functions and effect of these significant mobile structures next time you attend an expo or similar show. Gazebos are:

·       Designed to be collapsible; the steel frame, support structure and poles fold away for easy handling, carriage, and transport.

·       They have a roof covering (canopy), an overhead steel support system to provide the roof with stability, and four steel support poles, leaving the sides open and only supplying overhead shelter.

·       More advanced models may be larger but still feature similar support systems and frames. Depending on size, the profiles of the roofs may differ somewhat.

·       A branded model’s roof or canopy is very visible from afar, and from every angle or direction

·       One or more half or full sidewalls may be included, making the interior a more intimate, dedicated space, whilst offering additional protection from flying insects, wind, and weather, if set up outdoors.

·       Additional walls increase surface areas that are extremely well-suited to carry additional brand information.

·       Easy to spot and find.

·       Clearly separate one exhibitor, sponsor or participant from the next.

·       A perfect base from which personnel can introduce and promote the organisation’s products and services, receive visitors and interested parties, generate leads, provide quotes, hand out business cards and brochures, answer queries and represent your enterprise.

·       Branded gazebos are an extension of your company, business, image and corporate culture.

·       Your corporate colours and concern are on display, for all to see, visit and remember.

·       An enduring marketing, advertising and promotional vehicle and investment that you own and may utilise time and again, in different locations.

·       These structures show that your organisation is serious about its business and proud of it too.

Origins

It seems that not much has been recorded about the origins of the first gazebos, but many attributes them to Ancient Egypt where they were fixtures rather than mobile units. It is said that the people of Egypt constructed gazebos to provide support to vines and creepers. The Greeks, on the other hand, built marble gazebos near temples, while the Romans’ equivalent was used as a place of peaceful contemplation and relaxation. Thus, this structure had many uses historically.
