Surviving with Branded Buffs
At XCO Group, our proudly South African company, which manufactures and supplies a great variety of corporate branded merchandise, we know that Buffs don’t actually save lives or ensure survival in the normal course of events; that is – to the best of our knowledge. These products were not specifically designed as life-saving gear.
However, in certain conditions, these items have definitely proved that they may make life a great deal more comfortable by offering the Buff wearer a measure of protection. According to users of the branded Buff, they wouldn’t ever choose to pursue numerous outdoor activities without having one or more of these accessories on hand and easily accessible.
In addition to our branded promotional gifts, workwear, and other products, we supply buffs too, which may be found in our Headwear section that includes but is not limited to head wraps, head bands, scarves, multifunctional headwear, bandanas, and tubular bandanas.
We specifically refer to tubular bandanas when referring to our range of branded Buffs, because Buff, per se, is also the trade name and brand of the late inventor of these particular products.
Battle of the Buffs
Regardless, it’s possible that many South Africans only really became aware of branded buffs when and while watching a reality series made for the entertainment of TV audiences. Survivor is the name of the game, and the first series was launched in 2000.
In the televised Survivor series, Buffs play a prominent role as a means of establishing bonds between groups of strangers, whilst keeping the viewing audience engaged. Shortly after arrival on a deserted island or coastline, contestants in the game are divided into two or three groups. Each group’s members are given a coloured tubular bandana to indicate to which team or tribe they belong.
Objective – Final Remaining Branded Buff
Each episode, participants are voted out. Once the remaining contestants are whittled down to a smaller number, remaining participants amalgamate and are furnished with a new Buff, which may be branded with a single, new tribal name.
Eventually, the overall winner takes all – a substantial amount of money, the prize for being the series’ ultimate, sole survivor. One imagines that winners’ branded Buffs are treasured mementos of their time spent trying to survive in physically and mentally challenging conditions.
Facts about Buffs
Buffs appear to be very simple. Yes, they may be. Some simple-looking inventions are uncomplicated, yet exceptionally useful. On the “no” side, a great deal of detail goes into the concept, design, and manufacture of a Buff, ditto the fabric from which it is made.
· A Buff is a seamless tube, made of a fabric which has a 4-way stretch factor, enabling the buff to be pulled over the head or twisted several times around the arm or wrist with ease.
· The garment may be removed quickly and effortlessly.
· It’s all plain sailing and extremely practical, leaving the wearer’s hands completely free to manage and handle other hands-on activities.
· These products are perfect for branding, be the brand your company or team’s name and/or logo, your own name, or that of your sponsor, or even your country’s national flag
· As always, your chosen brand differentiates and makes you stand out from the rest, regardless of the product that’s branded or its functions.
Thoroughly Functional
Branded Buffs fulfil multiple functions. People who love the outdoors and participating in outdoor sports and events (as most South Africans like to do), find tubular bandanas very useful. They:
· Keep the neck or head cool when it’s hot and warm in cold conditions – a really good idea now that winter has set in
· Help to filter and prevent excessive dust from being inhaled
· May be worn as a headband to keep your hair off your face, prevent sweat from running onto the face and into one’s eyes during a workout in the gym, or while engaging in a strenuous activity
· Fulfil a similar function – wiping perspiration off the face, when twisted around one’s arm or wrist
· Protect the head, face, and neck from the sun
· Are an alternative to a face mask if pulled up to cover the chin, mouth, and nose
· Are a great alternative to a scarf, since your branded Buff will remain in place unless you decide otherwise
How or why you use branded Buffs is entirely up to you, but we recommend that you include our tubular bandanas in your staff’s corporate gear, particularly when you sponsor a sports event. Contact us today.
